The Hayward Area Recreation & Park District has two locations that serve as full-service nature centers, the Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center, and the Sulphur Creek Nature Center. For specific class offerings please see our Recreation Guide.
Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center The Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center is your introduction to the ecology of the San Francisco Estuary. The center features exhibits, programs, and activities highlighting both the natural and human history of the area. After getting an overview of the park and its features, take to the trails or join a naturalist on one of the many weekend programs offered.

Sulphur Creek Nature Center The Sulphur Creek Nature Center is a wildlife center dedicated to bringing people and animals closer together. There are live animal displays featuring local species, a Discovery Center, a pet rental program, school and group wildlife education programs, wildlife rehabilitation program, special events, nature study classes, volunteer programs, and outreach activities. The park provides picnic facilities and a nature trail.
