School Programs conducted Wednesday through Friday by reservation. Perched on stilts above a salt marsh, the Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center is your introduction to the ecology of the San Francisco Bay-Estuary. The Interpretive Center features exhibits, programs and activities designed to inspire a sense of appreciation, respect and stewardship for the Bay, its inhabitants and the services they provide. After getting an overview of the park and its features, join a naturalist on one of the many weekend interpretive programs offered.
On display in the Main Exhibit Hall:
Magnificence of Nature – Seasons of Mount Diablo
January 24 through April 18, 2010
Margo Watson shares her love of the Mount Diablo scenery with us
in a series of stunning photos that reflect the beauty of this fascinating
landscape. Also with this stunning collection of pictures are photos
of animals and vistas from other beautiful Bay Area locations. Artist
reception on Sunday, January 24 from 1:00pm-4:00pm.

Prospective Exhibitors: The Interpretive Center has a large exhibit space with vaulted ceiling and moveable display panels. We are always interested in any form of art exhibit that highlights local wildlife, wetland or Bay ecology, or any theme in keeping with our goal of educating and entertaining the public. If you are an artist interesting in holding an art show at the Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center, please contact the Program Director at 510-670-7270 to set up an appointment.

Hey kids! Have you ever wanted to get up close and personal
with the bayshore’s birds, plants, plants, bugs and other crawly critters? Ask
mom or dad to drop you off mornings at the Shoreline for five days of salt marsh
madness. Meet birds and bugs, search for life in the mud, play games, catch (and
release) fish, go on a scientific voyage of discovery and learn why the Shoreline
is such an important place. Fee includes T-shirt and all activities. Please use "Camp
Registration Form" or register online. Sessions indicate grade your child
will attend in September. Register online and then download the appropriate
forms.
Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center is always looking
for dedicated volunteers to help us maintain the beauty and health
of our precious environment.
Have a positive impact on the environment at the Hayward Shoreline. We need your help and enthusiasm to eradicate the non-native plants that threaten Shoreline diversity. Restoration days will involve working and learning techniques of invasive removal, native planting, as well as information about the native plants and animals of the Hayward Shoreline. Refreshments will be provided. Bring gloves or borrow some of ours. Ages 12 and older. REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Call 510-670-7270.
