Adult Nature Programs

Honey, almonds, and apples are just a few of the gifts we
receive through the pollinating labors of the millions of bees that roam our state. Come meet a Queen Bee, and learn about her subject’s favorite plant habitats and elaborate comb structure from Judy’s Bees. Meet at Sulphur Creek’s garden.

Bird “Smarts” Ravens and Crows

Come meet the Albert Einsteins in the world of feathered "brainiacs" The Family of Corvids, which includes Ravens, Crows, Magpies, and Jays, have the unique ability to work out complex puzzles and create simple tools to obtain food or special treats. Their memory centers are what set them far above all other bird families. Join us for a fun afternoon connecting with Corvids as we meet and learn about some of our local "Bird Brains".

Hiking for Wildflowers

Come enjoy the “sweet taste” of Spring’s wildlfowers! Buttercups, Mule Ears, Monkeyflowers, Fritillairies, nd more will welcome you into nature’s secret pantry that delights butterflies and songbirds alike. We’ll meet at a local East Bay trail site to discover some of this year’s colorful bouquet of wildflowers.
Participants will be notified where to meet one week prior to class date. Wear walking shoes, and bring binoculars.
