The Recreation, Arts and Community Services Department enriches the quality of life for community members through programs that promote health, wellness, fun and life-long learning.  With 10 community centers, 4 swim centers, 2 nature centers, 2 theaters, 2 art studios, a golf course and driving range, and numerous ballfields and sports courts, we are bustling with activity. Last year, we served over 120,000 people through our programs and services. Whether a caregiver and me toddler gymnastics class, ceramics open studio or chair yoga for seniors, we have something for everyone!

Hayward Area Recreation and Park District is committed to efforts in advancing Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Through our Health Equity Initiative, we offer free fitness classes, sports leagues, swim lessons, mobile recreation and community building events to ensure that everyone throughout the District has access to health and wellness opportunities.

Check out our Recreation Guide or program page to find out what is happening in the District. Registration is available online 24/7 or in-person Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 4:45 PM at the District Office located at 1099 E Street, Hayward, CA 94541.
