Michaela Burpee Michaela worked at Hayward Plunge as a volunteer Water Safety Instructor Aide and a Junior Lifeguard. Approximately 4,414 customers visited the Plunge during our Recreational Swimming program and approximately 1,563 swimmers were enrolled in our swim lesson programs this past summer. Michaela eagerly assisted the swimming instructors with their classes in every way possible, she is knowledgeable in all skills and was able to demonstrate and help teach the students. While out of the water Michaela was a great help to the staff in the office by always greeting customers with a smile and doing whatever was needed to help our program run smoothly.
Michaela has been around the HARD Aquatics program for some time. Her sister is a lifeguard with HARD and Michaela aspires to be a lifeguard also. Her mother Casey has been a long time HARD employee who teaches lifeguard training courses for the District. Michaela’s desire to become a lifeguard is evident in all she does. She always tries her best and can complete most tasks without much direction.
